Brigham Health Bridge Clinic

The Brigham Health Bridge Clinic is a rapid-access, low barrier clinic for patients with Substance Use Disorders (SUDs), including alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, cocaine, amphetamines, etc. We embrace a harm reduction and compassionate approach for patients in all stages of recovery.

BWH Psychiatric Nursing Resource Service

The Psychiatric Nursing Resources Service (PNRS) is an advanced practice nurse-led service at BWH with expertise in the psychological care of patients and families. The PNRS is a resource within the Department of Nursing. We provide evidence based coaching, consultation and education to nurses, care teams and leaders to positively impact and advance the psychological care of patients, families and systems. The PNRS is a member of the nursing leadership and collaborates with nursing leadership to advance the skills and expertise of nurses.

Goals Include but are not limited to:

  • Improve the early recognition, intervention and treatment of patients with psychological care needs.
  • DASH (delirium, alcohol withdrawal, and those at risk for suicide/harm) is an example of an organizational initiative led by the PNRS which resulted in a 9% decrease in 30-day readmissions.

Components of PNRS Include but are not limited to:

  • The PNRS developed Care Tips to guide nursing interventions (anxiety, alcohol withdrawal, cognitive disorder delirium, dementia, maladaptive coping, opiate misuse, substance misuse, suicidal ideation.
  • Collaboration with interprofessional team (e.g. Acute Pain Service, Addiction Psychiatry & Psychiatric Consultation Service, Pain and Palliative Service)
